Stubborn bass

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Stuffing pellets into dead feeders would be next. I would but some silver sides and use them instead of feeders though. It will eventually get a taste for the pellets and take those directly.

I personally like to use food sticks for stuffing the silver sides. Once they take dead fish try cutting them in half or thirds. This will make stuffing them easier and will also be the transition to cut fish/ shrimp. You can up the amount of food sticks you are putting in as the fish starts to accept them. This method has worked for me 100% of the time.

My last batch of kels I fed feeders up to 6inch and then I would take feeders and shake them in a bag of massivore and carnivore pellet dust. Then when the bass is waiting at the surface I’d throw the feeder fish in and the bass would eat it immediately. I fed like that on and off and mixed pellets in until they all took to the pellets. If you go the nightcrawler route you can do the same as the feeders but you can also squeeze the dirt out of the night crawler and push small pellets into the worms body. Both these methods worked great for me. Just a warning dusting is messy.

Gave in by giving it feeders. It’s been very long and it’s stomach is curving alot inwards. ?most stubborn fish I’ve had.

What are the chances fish starve themselves to death? Cause now I have a gar, arowana and peacock bass I have to ween onto frozen foods.

What were they eating before? How big are the fish?
Just got the gar 3 days ago, peacock bass 3 months ago and arowana 2 weeks ago. Arowana is about 15 inch, gar is 8 inch and bass is 8 inch also. The arowana and bass eat live and bloodworms, the gar I just got so idk. Bloodworms and lives aren’t nutritious so I’m trying to get them on frozen prawns. I’m just asking if they would starve themselves to death so I know whether I should worry or not.

I suggest what TheWolfman TheWolfman stated about stuffing but bloodworms into the prawn. The Silver Arowana and Gar should eventually except the prawn. Honestly don't have experience with peacock bass.

Don't believe the fish will starve themselves to death at their size.
