That coloration is two things. One they can go that coloration when stressed.. THOUGH more common is the breeding color
The pics you showed with the GT, JD and the Carpinte woudl suggest that in my opinion it is possible that the Carpinte was looking to be courted 
My female which is what it looks like you have. Pushed out my female JD from my breeding pair and the male JD and the Cyanoguttas paired up and were about to let loose.. But I was not about to let the bashing of my b lack arow continue :9 So I deleted the problem..
But furthermore just to re cap. Yes you are correct that is the exact coloration and pattern that both Carpinte and Cyanoguttas display when about to breed

Oh and i was able to keep her without issues... Until I went from strictly cichlids to peaceful arows
