Yeah, that´s the point
I am a Specialist for Coldwater Cyprinids and their Health but I have no Idea of Discus and very many other issues (I even have no idea of japanese Koi-Names as well, as long as they are pretty and healthy I don´t care
)It is just a matter of self-cheating not to be honest in ones own limits.
There is still so much I can learn and I want to and I learned to stop myself talking **** if I really do not know anything about it.
And none of us ever stops growing, that is why we have to consider others being just seedlings that need the right influences to grow up greatly.
The Hobbyist must understand that he actually has no idea of professional work and the prof´s must learn that they have to be well informed and educated to support hobbyists and that there are some great specialists among the hobbyists.
I think if everybody would stand by their own limits and is more interested in sharing experiences and learning from each other than being a bothering "teacher" it would quiet improve the situation.
But if we all are honest, in the beginning we all were Self(ish)-Promoters, were we not?
OK, sounds all a little cabalistic, but the main plot is the fish and we are the one to change the circumstances by recognizing first!
but actually too superficial to change anything.
