Some of the stories are scaring me. Seems like people try to talk down to those who don't have the expeirence.

Who's fault is it the knowledge isn't out there? It's the people who have it and aren't willing to teach. Screaming at people who don't know is no better than not knowing in the first place. Calmly explaining and discussing is the BEST way to share knowledge.

two girls at my lfs one approx 10-12 and like 16-18 (age is a complete guess one was a child and older sister). older one says "hey look at the crayfish (crawfish crawdads yabbie whatever you wat to call them) dont they live outta water too?!" younger one "yea they do" "well thats mean to leave them under water all the time we should save him"

I had a bad time at a pet shop. As I went in they had a tortoise running around. And I had say luv the Tortoise! Kid at counter said don't pick him up she is pregnant. I said oh she really needs a nice hot lamp and dirt to lay her eggs. He next words were turtle don't lay eggs they have babies like dogs and cats. I stop and looked at him with the worst stink eye look ever! I was so sad for the tortoise...... I just walked out. Posted on Google maps pet shop employees suck. And that store closed down a month later. I am so ashamed for that kid......

Yeah, when I tell people that there fish will grow big and they will be forced to upgrade their tank,I will occasionally get this response... I refuse to sell these people fish, and have gotten complaints filed on me and managers called over, the whole nine yards...


So today this guy (musta been drunk, sounded it anyway) came in and asked if its ok to ingest salt water... When i explained that it might make him vomit (depending on the quantity), but it won't kill him he proceeded to explain (in an odd almost sensual way) how he likes to heat it up and have people massage it on his back, but was worried he'd absorb so much of it he'd die through his skin... After reassuring him numerous times that he wouldn't he explained his wife won't do it anymore for him and asked if I knew anyone who would.... I was never more uncomfortable in my life,so of course I pointed him to my nearest coworker and said he'd do it for him and walked away as quickly as possible and just watched as my friends discomfort grew hahahaha

I know it isn't fish related, but definitely shocking... I might add that I work in Poughkeepsie new York which is where multiple mental institutions lost their funding a while back and most the crazies were let loose to breed and multiply...

I feel yeah on that one I work at a Petco also in Vegas and it's hard not to get irritated with the stuff that goes on here with costumers
And it's even worse now with that whole tanked TV show
They give amateur fish keepers the wrong idea and trying to convince costumers that it's a tv show and u can do what there doing is the worst
