Stupidest Combo of Tankmates You've Done.....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
surprisingly he( blue gourami) was pretty tough the blue dempsy was the wimp of the tank. the gourami was used as a dither when i first got a pair of pink convicts( the male con was bigger and kicking the crap out of the female con) the gourami chased the cons around for a while.... untill the cons had eggs. now the gourami R.I.P.

You may think my tank is a little crazy right now!
It's a 140gal stocked with..

3 Angel fish (3-4 inches)
3 Severums (4-8 inches)
1 Pike Cichlid (5 inches)
1 Female Nicuaraguanese (3 inches)
4 Electric Blue African Cichlids/Peacocks (2-5 inches)
1 Milamo African Cichlid (4 inches)
1 Brichardi (2 inches)
1 Asian grass carp (8 inches)
3 Corys (2 inches and really FAT)
2 Pangasius Cats (One 5 and one 6 inches)
1 Unknown fish I bought in an assorted African tank (1.5 inches) looks like a Victorian Haplochromine of some kind but still too small to tell, he loves picking on the bigger fish though, nipping their fins and running back into the rock piles)
1 Female Yellow Lelupei (3 inches)
1 Senegal Bichir (4 inches)
5 Giant Danios (3 inches)
3 Geo. Jurupari (3-4 inches)
1 Geo. Suranamisis (6 inches)
4 Silver dollars (4-5 inches)

All from different water parameters, but I keep the PH the same, do weekly water changes, feed them well, and they all get along just fine. No torn fins, no weak fish, no fish hiding from another, just happy and swimming around.

Working in an aquarium store, I hear of odd combo's every time. However, one will forever remain the undisputed champion. This guy tells me he's got a 10g, so I anticipate walking him over and showing him some livebearers or neons and the like. WRONG! He's got this thing already stocked-silver arowana, fugu puffer, mbu puffer, red belly piranha, gibby pleco, some platys, and a tsn. I had no response...I just stood there scratching my head.
