I'd agree with you guys except for they take years and years to grow to monster fish and I may never see them grow to huge lengths in my life time. They've only grown a couple of inches in the 2 to 3 years i've had them. Same as my nile perch i've had him for a year and he eats like crazy and hasn't grown and inch in the time i've had him
what kind of sturgeon are you talking about? some sturgeon only get up to 3-4 ft while some can get to 20ft!

ive been reading around and heard some sturgeon are born in fw but as they get older move to brackish water or something maybe this is the reason of the random cause of deaths? not sure just a thought

Not all Sturgeons go to SW. Some populations are isolated from the sea and are fine (well not really, no sturgeon population is truly fine, but what I'm trying to say is that they arn't dying from not going to sea). So sturgeons don't need to go to SW, they just do it because its instinct.

I also have sterlets which don't get as big as the white sturgeons. Either ones you get I don't think you'll see them full grown in your life time. I've done research on them and there was a biology place that kept a sturgeon for research purposes and they had it for 10 years and it was 5 foot long
