his good in that 55 for a while..is that a rbp in ur avatar ?

i guess i'll wait and see if he gets stressed or not. and yes it is, i sold it though because it bit my cat when it was drinkin from the tank lol:ROFL:might get back into them in a couple years though

Just replace him when you feel he is stressed out. You could rehome that arowana pretty easily and should have nothing to worry about :p

okay, so when should i re-home him? asap? or until he first shows signs of stress?
trust me if i could get him a 300g tank i would.
its just disheartening when i've gotten alot of crap about it today and i've only been asking for advice and not a lecture. im only 18 and i've realy only had this as a hobby for a year or so. i love fish especaily arowanas and i couldnt help but pick one up last week when i saw them in the small tank all packed together in a store. i thought i was doing some good but now it seems like im hurting the poor fish more. he's a perfect fish. i'd give it to my boyfriend for his 150g but his tiger fish would kill it lol

okay thanks, once i rehome him i'll just stick with my rams for awhile lol dont think monster fish is my thing just yet, i'll stick to the "girlier" fish :p

From the information I have gathered some Aros get Drop-eye in nature, so just except that it may happen. Making sure the fish is comfortable and healthy, should be you main concern. The 55 gallon tank it is in will not be large enough sooner then you think, so you really do need to look into at least a 125 gallon tank ( members on MFK, will say the tank must be 180 plus, but 125 will work ). If you need more time, you can slow the growth rate down by keeping the temp. low, but do not take the temp. lower then 70F degrees, it will develop Ick. good luck.
how would a 5 feet tank b good for an aro that gets bigger than 4 n members from mfk are first hand experience

idk most people dont plan on keeping an arowana until it gets max size probably. i know i wont be, as much as i want to i wouldnt have the room or budget to get a tank large enough for a full grown one.
