  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hi there Cockroach.. Good to hear from you..Thanks for the kind words. The gang is getting NLS pellets, tetra color bits, omega one shrimp pellets, omega one color flakes mixed with spirulina flakes and occasionally peas or zuchini.. They eat whatever I throw in and most of it never even makes it near to the bottom of the tank:ROFL::ROFL:... it really is like a shark feeding frenzy.. there are no shrinking violets in this group:ROFL::ROFL:. Hope all is good with you and your fishy friends. Any geos in there yet??? Sue:D

Hi Sue. No geo's yet. I am still having a hard time deciding which ones to get. Also waiting for my four clown loaches to grow a bit and maybe move them to another atnk to open it up.

After reading your food list I feel i should vary my food a bit more. The altums remain as shy as the day i got them and the leopoldi's are active and growing slowly. Quite agressive little buggers.

Hi again Cockroach ( I always feel strange typing in cockroach as I hate the little ****) LOL.. It's always good to have a varied diet for every fish.. for your angels you may also want to include some bloodworms. I also feel that water changes are a big factor in growth.. I treat my tank almost like it was still a discus tank and perform water changes once a week or more.. even tho the stats from the tests don't require it, IMO the fish benefit from it and I think it promotes growth and overall good health. I got so used to doing it for discus that it is no big deal with the help of my python. I just use the python to suction out the water to the grass outside and then only hook it up to the faucet to fill the tank. Would love to see some updated pics of your angels:popcorn::popcorn:. Take care Sue:D

Will update when I find the charger for my camera. Had a huge weekend a few back and in my infinite wisdom hid the charger from myself.

As for food, I feed a varied diet but your food just sounded higher quality than mine. I feed my leopoldi's and scalare:
Tetrabits for discus
TetraRubin granules
Delik Tanganyika (Veg part)
Frozen Bloodworms
Frozen brine shrimp
and live ghost shrimp
The staple though is frozen bloodworms and Tetra discus bits.

I do weekly water changes of a minimum of 25%, every second or third time up to 60%. My scalares are large already so they slowly get bigger. The leopoldi's don't seem to be growing at a noticable rate, although I can see they have grown a little bit.

My altums will only eat live ghost shrimp (lucky I have a cheap ready supply) and frozen bloodworm. Slowly to get them onto the tetra bits.
