Suicide instructional vids on youtube kids app.

It is really tough. Ps4 is off limits during the week. Youtube only while the wife or I am present. Seems like no matter how vigilant we are its a struggle.
I think the problem is our parents had to worry about the wolves at the door step. Today the wolves are in the house too
People say mental defect or what ever i dont by it man. Do to something like that takes a concious effort. Sickening. My wife stopped telling me about the kids stuff, i get too upset and fired up. Just cant deal with it

It is a struggle. I’d personally like to just toss all the kids games, tablets, and TVs. I don’t feel they are necessary. Nice to have, but life can go on without them.
I’m trying really hard to be reasonable, but it seems like as time goes on I’m hit with more negatives to kids have any access to electronics.
And it is sad how common all this is. I’ve taken a long break from watching the news because it has gotten so depressing seeing all the awful things that happen every day.
Hello; I know it is not a fair way to look at it but some days there is a relief that I do not have children or grandchildren. I do get the point many are making about what seems to be a clear problem. I did not know about the instructions for how to do suicide but have heard about eating Tide detergent pods and driving a car while blindfolded because it was in a movie.
I get that keeping kids safe today is a challenge. I picture parents thinking the house is secure with all doors and windows locked, an alarm system and the kids safe in their bedroom, while they are on some device giving out suicide tips.
I do not have a very smart cell phone. A few years ago the old flip phone I carried had to be replaced because it did not have enough G's. So I got a newer tracphone with something called android. I only use it to call and to text. It has some internet capacity but I have never activated that part. I have 3093 megabytes of data accumulated. I guess a kid would know how to activate that part even tho I do not.
I guess my question is are there cell phones available that do not have internet or is there some way to block stuff and allow other stuff. I can see the value of a child having a cell phone but not so much the internet capacity. I get that kids want all the new shinny stuff just like all their friends. I know it would be a big drama to take away a kids smart phone but maybe it would be worth the grief???

I can control my daughters cell phone. I have passwords so she can’t download anything without me oking it. And I have blocks on her internet.
I don’t have the same blocks on their PlayStations or switches.
I’ll need to see if I can just put a password on the internet.
I think the internet would've screwed me up if I had it young. I won't elaborate...
Wow thanks Frank, although I teach my kids every single day about bullies and idiots online this really opened up my eyes on how stupid and selfish these ****ing idiots are... how dare they taint something so pure just because they didn’t receive love from their mommies... sickening, the judge need to really throw the books at these ****ing idiots and throw away the keys... let the system work these idiots out
Same. I didn’t start going online and using social media till I was 17 almost 18. And I still did some really dumb dangerous things.
No.problem brother. Man i think our society has become too civilized... nothing deters these monsters.
The problem is, like the video in the original post, it can happen so fast. So, unless one is watching every word that your kid is watching, it's possible to miss it.
