what would you all use the run eight 100 gals set up on a wall 4 on one side 4 on the other. should i use the drum idea? or the tank whats easier and uses less space.
same with 55s.

Maybe a rubbermaid tub, since you are looking at at least a 200 gallon sump. 300+ for messy fish.

how much space do you have? where will it be located? is the sump your main filtration? how many fish? how large are they?

impossible question to answer without details

rooms like the garage lol i have a alot of room.
umm is it ok to use it as my main filtration?
im new to this ill post up pics soon.
i know you all can help me if any one can.

are the tanks drilled? how will they be plumbed together? how many pumps do you plan to run?
i personally would not use a wet/dry as the main filtration for that many tanks....

i would look into sytems designed for aquaculture, go to aquatic ecosystem,s website and read some of their articles.

For 1100g, depending on the bio-load your going to need upwards of 400g of sump. I would use the multi-barrel approach, as they don't have to be directly beside each other

I agree completely.
4 or 5 barrels with different media.

good replys!
tanks are all drilled, and i would be using PVC pipe.
maybe have a barrel in each corner? hmmmmm im new to the monster room, as of now i have a few mediumsize tanks (100 gals/55s ).
wet/dry sounds bad then what else would i use?

so i suppose rule of thumb is like having the sump 1/3 of the size of the tanks total?

im on a few forums but they arent really into the "bigger"scale things like you guys.

and before i get a PM about the Pic thats my g/f and she gets on here also on this name.
