Looking at the graph a 1inch pipe (estimate not exact) is gonna move around 600gph you have two so your gonna wanna find out what gph ypur pumps loqest setting is and start from there.

millerkid519 DN328 you guys have any experience with durso ? Is flow restricted to a degree or is a 1 inch durso gonna move the same gph as a 1inch none durso ?

I think the durso is 1.5”.

OP, the return that the pump hooks up to is the line with the loc line pieces that can be adjusted. Generally, the smaller lines are for the returns and the larger lines are for the drains.

Also, when you first start the pump up, it takes it a minute or two for the water in the tank to rise to the point that it begins to drain back to the sump. It doesn’t happen instantly.

That’s at zero head height though. At 4-5ft of head, it’s proba down around 1500-1600gph.

You need to bettee secure that tubing. Me personally i prefer pvc but others use tubing. I would get some of the metal clamps around the part of the tubing thats connected to the bulkhead if you stick with the tubing.

A diy sock holder forthe filter socks. Either use small pvc and make a cage so the sock can sit in it or using eggcrate.


You have the drain connected to the pump. Just switch it

If I had a pump on each side (plumbed correctly this time) and a powerhead on each end of the sump wouldn't that push the water through the media?

You definitely have the pump connected to the wrong line. It should be connected to one of the smaller lines.

This pic tells me the pump is connected to the drain.

I would just takr a break. Think about what you want out of this set up.

Agreed, best to take your time and do it right the first time so you don’t make any mistakes.

Yeah I was thinking that would be a good idea to secure them with some clamps. I'm going to stick with the tubing only because of the amount of money I've invested in the stinking stuff already.

Not a bad idea. Order another pump and do a bit of reading and ask many questions while you’re waiting for it to come in. You will be happy that you took the time to do it right in the long run. It took me about 9-10 months to get my 220 fully setup and get it going. I’m really happy with how it turned out now though.

Okay yeah I'm going to order another pump and another powerhead along with some metal clamps and hopefully that'll get me at least closer to having this thing set up.

I'm pretty sure I need to shim the tank as well, when I filled it up today it wasn't perfectly level on one side.

We all learn as we go man. I harassed these guys for ever trying to learn about this stuff.

Gotta find something like this so qe can figure out the gph range (low/high) on your pump
