This little guy has been terrorizing my entire tank full of cichlids and has nearly killed A flowerhorn and a green terror.. I'm trying to figure out why it only chases and trys to kill only the females in the tank but yet only allows the female convict anywhere near it. I thought it was a male but now I'm not sure. Any help is appreciated. I'm trying to get my tank separated cuz of the fish getting bigger and the aggression. 20160619_184815.jpg

It's a male and probably wants to mate.I imagine your female convict may be ready to spawn and that's why he excepts her and not the others.

Can green Texas breed with convicts? And if so what fish does that even make lol

Contex is what it makes lol and yes they can breed. I had to take out my convict from my main tank had it as a dither but ended up trying to spawn with my Midas lol

Texas are mean and might kill off especially if females are laying eggs. Pheromones in water makes the male alert and ready to breed.

You're going to see aggression with a few days of them being paired off then they will lay and don't be surprised if the female dies. Happens a lot lost tons of females like this.

I bet they are some ugly fry... Yea I've already had to remove 2 of my fish, he almost killed my green terror and my flowerhorn
