Sux when this happens

MarcN. MarcN. What are the dimensions on this tank? Did I see correctly you are going 1"? Is this just regular plate glass? If so you may not like the effect the thick glass can create. You may see a noticeable green tinge to everything. This is where a low iron glass would do better, at least for your front panel.

The tank will be 75"x20"x20" as we had agreed. I did let him decide on which glass to use for front and back and he told something about a low metal glass (which I assume was iron as you have mentioned). Also asked him if could diamond drill the back for overflow so that I can add a 20g sump. Excited as I am but it'll be another 30-40 days before I get the tank back as the worker is juggling with work and some commitments which I totally understand and also considering the amount of silicone will be used to piece the tank together would give time for a more solid cure :)

While the tank is being assembled Imma have to modify the old 3ft stand that the broken 50g used to sit on so the new tank would fit when it arrives.

I've never had experience with acry tanks but I heard and read that the front are prone to bending over time even at level surface? o_O
That's only if it's not build correctly or a damaged top brace. My acrylic tank is six years old and no bending or bowing in the front. It's 1/2" all around

With a 20" height the need for thick glass is reduced. That will be a nice sized tank for your poly's. The low iron is the way to go for clarity, so that is good if that is on the front panel.

What are you looking at for your final stock? All Poly's or anything else?

Looking forward to pics when the new tank is done!

That tank will be strictly upper jaws :) so I think 20" height is just nuff. I have the lower jaws at the 180 at my new house settled in where me and my family will move by next year.
