do i need the protein skimmer right away or i can wait awhile
and as for live rock any one from hawaii kno where i could buy/get some
at sandys they have lots of pools down there

ive been gradually increasing the light up to 7 hours
and i noticed some green and pink showing on the rocks
and pink in the sand
is this normal or did i do something wrong
the shrimp was only in there for 10 hours
out 5 and in again for another 10

Most Hermit Crabs will eat small fish. Clown gobies stir up the sand and stay small. And cleaner shrimp will clean everything else. Snails will clean the glass.

Nassarius snails are sand-stirrers.

can anyone tell me wat the green and pink growin on the rocks nd the pink in the sand
its like gettin me stressed out
i keep thinkin i did somethin wrong

no, that is standard algae. you can add a few cleaners, some snails and hermits. i don't recommend any sand stirring critters but a few nassarius snails. the rest are not going to find enough to eat.

welcome to your first cyano bloom!

ok kool but is it normal for the nitrites to start peaking up after a week
cuz i jus did a test and ammonia is starting to fall and nitrites are starting to rise

That's a good sign actually. There are two types of beneficial bacteria that establish themselves during your tank's initial cycle. The first converts ammonia into nitrite. This set is present and working. The second converts nitrIte to nitrAte. This set will begin establishing themselves now that there is nitrIte for them to consume.

Good luck with the rest of the cycle!
