Hi Peter... I'm sure they will enjoy their "camp" time at kens and youall will enjoy your break. It would be nice if everyone could let their "kids" have a "sleep over" at Kens for awhile:ROFL::ROFL:.. Live baby brine shrimp... wow.... They may never want to come home:ROFL:.. Seriously you are doing great with them... More pics when you and they return home please.. By then we should also be back and might just be ready for our new additions... Sue:D

LOL I'm worried too that they'll be spoiled at Ken's....hope they'll be about the size of yours when you first got them.

how long does it take for the geo eggs to hatch. Should the color of the egg be creamy or clear color?

They pick up a couple of days later. The eggs should be mostly clear, perhaps a bit brown...here is an old (and crappy) pic.

most of my orange head eggs are creamy, is this because they are unfertilized
They should be amber coloured like the ones along the bottom in your photo, since they look like they are tending them well, the white ones were probably not fertilized

well all the brown ones just disappeared. do you think the parent ate them? i took the picture this morning. but all the creamy color ones is still there. what do you think might happenned?

Either they ate them, or they are holding them. If they are holding them their lips will be closed and it will look like they are chewing. They pick up after 32-34 hours, to give you an idea if it is the right time frame

so the parent lay the eggs, and then they pick them in their mouths? im new to these eartheaters. I had frontosa before and they would hold them in their mouth until fullborn. but you say the geo lays the eggs, let it sit there for 3 to 4 days, and then picked them and hold them until they are wigglers?

They are larvophilous mouthbrooders, so they lay eggs (usually on a smooth rock, sometimes on driftwood) and after 32-34 hours they collect the hatching larvae. They then hold them for 3-4 days, before they begin releasing them for short periods. They usually become freeswimming on the 6th day.
