But their in captivity man, the one was half size cuz he couldn't compete for the already scarce supply of food, many of us have successfully raised shoals and personally speaking my adult shoal is very active and tough so don't worry about that, juvy development is very crucial, but their your fish. Gl.

I would think fasting them one day a week is great and helps them keep active with feeding, 2 times a week is a bit for some fish, with my rays I always feed a set amount so I dont go crazy with the food.

I was just saying such as he wants to go without feeding a little, a day a week would be the most I would do with fish, but if I see a smaller fish or someone that is not looking fat enough I give them extra. Always hard to feed a group though, sometimes I wish I had a remote control for two of my rays so I could guide them to more food that the others did not see yet.

The reason being is the fact that they are still so small and when they feed they are really fat into that second day. They never go skinny per say I want them to grow fast but not be overfed, fat and lazy. I've only had them maybe 3 weeks now? so they have literally gone 3 days total with no food since the first week I fed heavy to be sure they fattened up from their journey and to make sure there were no losses. The second week I only starved them 1 day and this past week was the first time they didn't eat on wed. So it's not even as bad as it sounds I guess. They are crazy active, very healthy plump piranhas.
