The fish are healthy and they have room to swim around, whats wrong with that. So the two oscars don't have a 125 to themselves, big deal. I bet alot of people who complain about these "overstocked" tank don't have fish as healthy as the fish in the overstocked tanks.

and i bet people that don't complain about the overstocking have very little experience and alot of dead fish.

i am completely aware of that, but at the LFS I go to there are several large fish that have been in the same tanks for a year and the majority of them look in good health. They probably aren't happy, but they are healthy.

They aren't there with the intention of giving them a permenent home even if they are there a long time. Being healthy is happy for a fish and just because they appear healthy on the outside dosen't make it so inside. A fish could have failing kidneys due to high nitrate and you would never know it.

I am running a canister filter and a bio-wheel doing 1 50-70% water change a week. Besides the algae growth my water is pristine.

The only way to know water is pristine is to test it.

Yes I know they are aggressive and thats why I have them, if I wanted a pacifist fish I would have purchased some goldfish and called it a day.

Aggresive fish injure and kill eatch other. They stress eatchother, weaken immune systems etc. There is nothing wrong with having aggresive fish, most of mine are. The difference is that mine are properly stocked and aren't aggresive toward eatchother. If aggresion becomes a problem I fix the problem.

I also do not plan on keeping the fish forever because I simply cannot. I am in the military meaning once I move, the fish are going to have to go one way or another and until that time I like to have something nice to look at in my living room.

That is news to me but I wonder. If you want something to look at why not get get fish that stay small? You won't ever see your fish at full size so what is the point? There are plenty of small aggresive fish out there

Never said anything about good filtering equals good health, you are obviously quoting someone else.

Honestly I cannot remember anymore, this is an old thread in my book and I can't even remember what your setup is like. Perhaps I'll re-read it but I probably won't bother.

Perhaps you have forgotten which web site this is. Please scroll up to the top, check the banner. Oh, it's the one that is notorious for overstocking tanks with predatory fish. That explains it! You must have though this was another site!
