Tanganyika biotope monster tank 1800gal

Don't know how I missed this thread, but WOW...I'm glad I found it now. Magnificent tank, and a pleasure to see it populated with small fish. I must admit that if it were mine, I would try to come up with an idea for some species of larger non-predatory fish, at least 8 inches or bigger, that could co-exist with this community. Does such a biotope-correct thing even exist?

My experience with African cichlids is virtually non-existent...a single tank I kept for a couple years, a long time ago...and I never really "got" the appeal of them. Looking at your tank...now I get it. :)

And twentyleagues twentyleagues , you're so right about that dang leleupi. A magnificent tank, interior seems to be painted black so it just disappears, a black bulkhead way in back where nobody would notice it...and he decides to jam his lemon-yellow butt halfway into it with his head sticking out! "Hey! Look over here! Bulkhead! We got a bulkhead over here!" :)

I think one of the best parts of this forum is some of the scapes, tanks and stocking that we see. I have never seen a dedicated Tang tank this large. It’s uniqueness is what makes it so special. Personally I think the species, sand and rock work makes this one of the top 3 tanks I have seen on this site. I wouldn’t want to do anything different.

Wow the tank is looking pretty good! I see a pair of Fronts protecting fry from the Leleupi trying to get a snack and another Lelupi harassing some Shellies near their shell.
