But in those other pics take a look where the suction cups are, right by the point of impact. And take a look at their heaters. One has mostly the heater gone, and the other has a huge chunk gone, not cracks.

Your right, I'm sure Danny Monster just had researched all this and it is just a sham produced in order to keep the brother out of trouble with the parents :duh:

Pyramid-_Party, you could well be right BUT there is enough info surfacing in this thread to throw reasonable doubt on the cause. There is certainly some issue with this brand of heater. It is hard to speak in absolutes with this much to think about.
I now am imagining one of these heaters in my DIY PVC inline heater housings and wondering if the end result is a pipe bomb.
That thought alone is enough to keep me buying Ebo Jager.

its not the plastic of the heater that is breaking the glass, its the shock wave pushing the water. the way the plastic breaks has little to do with the destruction.

Pyramid i notice that u are in oc socal. wat part of socal are u in? i would love to explain it to u and person. so please tell me ur location. u can come over anytime

Pyramid, i know that when typing its hard for people to understand what you mean and how you are saying it but to me it seems as if you are being a little rude to the OP. I say lets just see what marineland says about this whole thing before we blame anyone else. I apologize if i sound rude.

wtf man. that messed up. i'd sue them big time- get a big new york or boston firm on their ass. that'll pucker their holes.

LOL Marineland's response to someone who has a heater from the same lot as one that exploded

Below is another response from this post: http://www.midwestcichlid.com/showthread.php?18318-Exploding-Marineland-Stealth-Pro-heaters/page2&

"I received four replacement heaters for the one that exploded and the three of the same lot that I shipped back earlier in the week before I even shipped them back.

I shipped the bad heater and the other three to them last Wednesday with receipts for the PVC fittings that were busted and pieces of the broken glass top.

I just got a call from the UHG (marineland). The lady said that the heater did look like it had exploded. She was very apologinic and said that they would pay for a new top and the cost of the PVC fittings I had to replace. It was very pleasant, no haggling at all. She says the reimbursement still has to go through channels and it will be a couple of weeks. Knowing big companies, I can live with that. Then she aplogized again for the inconvenience.

Happy ending to what could have been a bad story."

Seems like they are starting to take this seriously! When it starts costing them money then they will recall and/or improve the product. Or, when someone gets hurt, a court fines them a million $$$ in punitive damages, or they lose the right to sell in the US. I vote for the million before someone loses an eye or gets electrocuted. Nothing helps a company to get back on the right track better than a heavy fine.

Dang thats crazy I was thinking about getting that heater too. The heater company should pay for all the damages

dude ye adont get out bc of this. its a learning experience. everyone on here has had them and it just makes you better at keeping fish. you never get better if nothing goes wrong. but get a new tank and a better heater set it back up and you will forget this ever happened and kick yourself everytime you remeber you almost got out of fish keeping.

but i hope everyone that this has happened to gets taken care of and we dont lose anyone from the hobby over it. i would def look into the law suit tho. that is not only a way for you to get some bad ass fish and maybe help you thro college, and as previuosly stated it will get them to get there **** striaght and start doin things right so no one else has to lose fish or tanks or anythin.
but good luck in what ever you decide to do man. and thanks for the heads up
