TANK BUSTED

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
gotta agree. the damage is far from where the suction cups were. either a fish broke the glass with the heater, or a fish broke the heater and the ensuing damaged cause the heater to explode.

that said, I'm gonna go make sure my heater is in its suction cups.

so you are telling me that if a heater exploded there would be no damage where it was located?
also, how does a heater explode?
If we are talking about an explosion, there would be an internal energy issue that would probably cause the whole heater to break out.
I have seen a heater out of water before and seen the crack in the glass of the heater. Looks very familiar to what I have seen with a heater out of water.

But hey, I am not seeing this in person, just what I see in the pics and how I see them. Since no one was there at the time, hard to say what really happened. Either way, i say try to get some money or something out of them.

iono how it happen but ima just gonno tell them wat happen. my heater was in the suction cups everything was fine. i do check my tank everyday before i head to bed.

I have 3 brand new in the box marinland stealth pro heaters that are for sale.......any body want them? I'll give you a good price. They were for my 180 but I think I might go with another brand.

I'd take them if you lived near me

I have to agree with the handful of people on here reagarding the heaters location and the damage. I have had many heaters fail, none of them have failed to such a degree that it could have damaged my tanks. I think the tank failure came first causing the heater to run dry and fail. But, thats just my opinion. Either way, I am sorry for your misfortune.

Yeah now that you mention it, if the heater exploded the damage would be at or near the suction cups. The suction cups look fine in the pic. It does look like the tank broke and drained, then the heater cracked form being out of water.

You know what guys the more I look at this the more I agree with you all too. There is no marks of an exploding heater on the back pane which would have shown if it had exploded...
