TANK BUSTED

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ive had to deal with marineland a few times but nothing this bad. they are usually pretty good with customer service. hopefully they will take care of you. im sorry for all the water and stuff. but it would be a shame to loose you from the hobby over a defective part. let them replace your setup and start fresh. but from the story/ pictures, you have a pretty decent lawsuit on your hands if wanted. and i would mention it to them. just explain they you have a, broken glass EVERYWHERE and explain how it was shot across the room, explain the extent of the water damages and damage/loss of property, the fish are counted as loss because they could die from not having a properly cycled tank and the proper equipment to keep them alive. and a traumatized little brother. whom which every time he sees a fish tank he throws his hands up in the air and runs away screaming bloody murder. j/k in the last part but id be pretty scared of exploding tanks tho. flying glass never ends well really. and they will be more than happy to write you a check to keep this out of the media. stories like this can do alot of damage on the company's sales. good luck! and again sorry for your misfortune. just glad no one was too terribly hurt

wow... u make me have goose bump and made me smile.. hahahha

ill copy and paste some stuff from ur quote into my letter haha

Wow, sorry you have to go through all this.

Looks like I'm not buying any more Stealths. I've been shocked by several broken Stealths at work, but I always thought that was just from improper care of them. Never saw one fail this explosively though.

So all they are doing is replacing a heater? NO way! Tell them you want a replacement tank and reimbursement for ALL the damage to your house OR you will be contacting a lawyer!!

You need to be more aggressive about it, don't let them push you away.

I have to play devils advocate here:
IMG_0001.JPG

Look at where the heater was located (i.e. the suction cups), at the back of the tank, and look at where the point of failure is, almost to the front of the tank. If that heater caused that damage it must have been outside of the suction cups.

Please do not flame, I am NOT calling anyone a liar, I am simply pointing out what I see in the picture (and what Marineland will see). Anyone else agree?

no pun intended. lol

but yea. make sure you send lots of pics. take pics of damage from all different angles. and remember, it was very traumatic. just imagine all the stress that flooded over you (literally) when you entered that room. :WHOA::eek:

now i want you to put that in words and on paper. remember to be nice but not too nice. of course your agitated, look what just happened.

ok so this is me playing devils advocate. remove the suction cups carefully not cutting yourself of course and then retake above mentioned photo and.... problem solved.
