Tank Stand Design 8'x2.5'x2' tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice stand. I'll be working on a very similar one soon for an 8 footer we picked up. Nails and joints don't play much of a part in my design because its a stacked arrangment with 8 4x4 main supports. 3/4" 13 ply voidless birch with a 2x4 frame will constitute the tank support and this will sit directly on the 4x4 main supports. I'm still trying to decide how I want the exterior.

i love the under gravel jet systems of todays... it wont be long timm they sell them as kits. using the new aliminum house water pipeing works realy well for that. is wont rush or polute your water you can bend it however you like and use compretion/quick connect fittings on them...

The background looks awsome, its a greate stary, are you going to make it fiberglass or concreet? personly i think that the concreet ones look better and more natural. all you do us lix um come runny concreet and paint on several layrs and on the last one mix it up with dome concreet dye and splat it on... looks cool that way i think but if you do go that way make sure to cure it or it will leack and hurt the fish...

Loving the tank sofar.

its gonna be fiberglass, the foam is just a mold and won't go into the tank ever :) that way is doesn't take up water space either
