guppies, goldfish... and all those pellets and market shrimp try to stock the tank with every day...
Well when I was sold my first bichir at petsmart a long time ago. It was sold to me as a "Dinosaur eel" Keeping a community tank at the time I figured what the hell seems like a neat fish...... I put it in a 29 gallon with some African Dwarf frogs various Danios and a chinese algae eater.... A month later he was alone.

LOL That is pretty much what happened to me! Except I lost all my ottos and amano shrimp, which are kind of high dollar b/c they eat the algae that is hard to get rid of. I also had a bunch of Kulii loaches. My LFS told me the ottos (siamese aglae eaters) and the kuliis would be too fast for the 'slow' bichir...... definately NOT the case......
My bichir ate a nice looking goldfish I got from my local fair. Didnt think he had a big enough mouth =(. He ate the face off of a cory cat and took a tiny bite out of my cute little ctenopoma's tail. He is now in a bichir tank at my lfs.
So...... I had som BBA in my tank and decided to get some golden barbs. I had 5 full grown ones in there before and my sen was fine with them...... the new ones I bought were babies........ Eight went in before lights out...... one left at lights on...... I guess I couldn't resist buying $20 worth of feeders.... lol my mistake..... again.
