Tanning Aros???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just realized how dull my picture came out (iPhone) haha the colors are 3x at bright in person i promise lol Il ry and capture another pic with a dslr!

I have had silvers before but none had any type of color to them at all. This Aro showed vibrant colors from the start to begin with that would be the only thing difference I can think of.

So far so good my aro is roughly 11in-12in long it's colors are very bright with colors from red, pink, blue and green. I have spoiled this fish from the start and tried to feed it everything and anything it wanted, all it would take was hikari food sticks. I am religious on the water changes 25% every 10days on the dot! He also has natural sunlight that directly hits him early morning on the right side of the tank where it spends most of its day at.

Just like Yan unfortunately it has gotten de in one eye. This fish was the calmest fish I've ever had out of all my aros. Never jumped just get startled when dark. I did notice de a couple days later after it jumped and hit the filter above him. I gave him 1 goldfish as a treat and as he was trying to catch him BAM knocks his head on it and left a little scar. Couple days later his eye started to droop..

As far as tanning and color enhancing I haven't experimented with any myself but best of luck!

Thanks bro try putting ping pong balls in the water it will allow him to focus on something above possibly curing it. Im still looking for a possible light to darken!!! Btw aro coming this weekend I will start a new thread when i get him or her!

Dude, I swear if you buy the food I linked to you will get red finned arows. Take it or leave it, but don't dismiss it.

But that food is made of flakes. I really do not see a 2 foot aro being fed on flakes. Do they have pellets?

They don't have pellets with the same ULTRA color formula. If you have to, feed it to feeder fish just before you feed it to your predictor If you don't want to keep feeder fish, try keeping ghost shrimp and feeding it to them. They at least are a little bit tastier than goldfish! But you have to feed the feeders RIGHT BEFORE, don't let them start digesting the flake much.

The big bag has really huge flakes so maybe she can eat them anyway?!?!?

Keeping them in the 'fridge keeps the color enhancers fresh and working longer....

I will have no problem getting my aro on flakes. What is the shipping price?
