Any one here on MFK went to the tarpon rodeo, older fishing contest in america 88 years old, i wanted to go but couldnt. I did go to grand isle a week later where it was held, did some swimming

tarpon rodeo is open to almost all classes,tarpon,sailfish,redfish,speckle trout,black drum, wahoo, red snapper, sting rays , manata rays , i think sharks, u get the point
I have fished it the past 10 years and placed a few times for red drum and black drum. I am in the boat with you this year though and missed it do to work. I know that does not answer your question but when I saw this and that you were from NO I had to chime in.
slightly off topic but how bout the worlds richest tournament? its a tarpon tournament in boca grande, fl and its litterally called "The Worlds Richest" i think its 2500 a boat to enter and 100k grand prize. i watch every year but have no money to enter lol. but your tourny sounds more fun as you get a lot more fish
yea dude i went, didnt fish, partied ALOT. 5 days on the island. got a few pix of some of the fish on ice. i'll post those. i have a ton of party pics, let me know if you wanna see some some of those i i'll post some of the ones i can.
why are the tarpon on ice? thats a disgusting sight.. they arent even good to eat whats the point in killing such a beautiful sport fish? in FL its not even legal to keep them unless you buy a keep tag..
dont know why they kill the tarpon, but they do have a bunch of those guys down here. but all the rest of the fish are given to the food bank for homles people.
