What are you basing your opinion on? The max size of P reticulata?? We dont know conclusively what species these red retic looking rays are so we dont know their maximum size.

Who said they get 30 inches?

Have you ever seen any larger than 8 inches? I havent........

Show me a 30 incher I would be curious to see one.

Well considering they are P. Reticulata, I would base my opinion on the maximum size of P. Reticulata, yes..

If it is another species I would be interested to hear why you think so.. is it because they are RED?! haha..

Until someone proves me otherwise, and isn't based on someone going around spreading mis-information based on their size at maturity. I have seen P. Reticulata fully developed at 6" and produce pups at 10".. Maybe they stay that small, too! Oh wait.. They get 30" TL, I've seen it myself..

Hm mis-informed people taking wild guesses again.. :nilly:

Fully developed at 6", and adult size of 15" + 15" tail..

but the red ones are a different species.. ;)

Miles you are the worst "expert" I have ever seen at Identifying stingrays. Congratulations on receiving your first look at the aqualog this xmas most of us have had these books for almost a decade.

At this point it is not clear exactly what species they are so their max size is not known.

I never claimed to be an 'expert', like you, Jon.

Infact, I am learning everyday.. my knowledge hasn't come to plateau, as your all-knowing self has.

I own reticulata's, I've seen red reticulatas.. I've talked to Andreas about it, I've talked to Ross about Rosa's synoymizing of Orbignyi, I've done a bit of research on this species..

I think you have no clue what you are talking about. I'm glad you've seen red retics in person, does that make you an expert? I guess so.. I mean, you do know everything about stingrays. Good thing I never made that claim, or come off as someone who does.. Have you OWNED a red reticulata for more than a few years? Then I would say your making assumptions which you always knock other people for doing.. crazy.

One thing though Jon, that makes us difference.. I can talk to people with out being a pompous self-absorbed arrogant jerk.

I'm glad you sold some stingrays a long time ago. Get over yourself.

Go to WaterWolfs, where they like people like you..

It's a damn fish forum, why don't take your trash talking to a coin collecting forum.

:chillpill::chillpill::chillpill: calm down people if you want to be technical there are no experts on stingrays some people know a lil more than others... not enough is known about them period.... :chillpill:
