This is gonna be nice :headbang2.

How high up is the gap?

Your doing a full wood frame ? top, bottom & sides right? what thickness (size) wood?

Your dead-on about the silicone, I don't know why some people can't get that right.

amehel0, you never weld with the glass in, you build the frame and then install the glass. And metal frames should not be in direct contact with the glass because of the different expansion rates of the materials involved.

Oh, why 7.5ft? just curious...

Man I gotta start paying attention in the DIY Section again ... This is gonna be a bad tank once completed...Couple of notes though, 1) That Silicone Job doesn't look all that great and will most likley give out on you... maybe not during the test fill but it will give out, From the pic that I'm looking at it seems like less than %50 of the surfaces are bonding. 2) I'm jealous 3) See #2 4) How are you planning to frame this thing... it seems to me that you would need some space around the tank and I see 2 walls which it appears to be butted up against. If your planning to move it... Get someone to take a video of that cause I'd LOVE to see how you would do it...

This is gonna be an awsome viewing tank though... what are you planning to put in there?

??? I've got a 20" monitor and enlarged it still looks like a standard bead for that size tank.

What at you seeing?

Joe... I think your getting old and your eyes are going... my 20" clearly shows air pockets in that silicone bead that would be able to raise the titanic.

pffffft ... my 20" is only my laptop ... 120 for the home computer ;)

i suggest alot of bracing. how you gona move it? how many men and what frame? will be sic but you know thoose joins need fixing badly. youd hate to have over 1000 gallons thru your home trust me the damage will devistate you

damn!

that picture with the gaps is the last side installed. Can i just cut the silicone off and redo just that side? or do i have to dismantel the entire thing?

Could it be possible to use steel framing? Like a bedframe with two cross beams.
