I hate when things dont work the first time...

I'm debating scraping the whole thing now... While pulling off the pc of glass the seam between two pcs of concrete board cracked... and its going to be impossible cleaning all the silicone off the concrete board due to its rough texture.

what do you think?

Looks like i'll be working on my other project while I figure out what to do with this...

why not go smaller i mean doing a 1000+gal tank outta 12mm wasnt ever gonna work. i think make it less wide and less tall. and it should work better also use it all in glass not concrete and glass just my 2cntz

The concrete board is cheap to replace and reseal...Then have at it again.

The reason for chosing these dimensions is becuase the glass is tempered and cannot be cut. According to garf this tank should work and it would work great for my big cats. I dont want to change the dimensions.

Theres no way I can afford a pc of glass large enough for the bottom. Concrete board is an affordable alternative.

I bought a 5gal bucket of drylok for 25 bucks.:headbang2

Well, I just quit my second job so I'll be able to put it together a lot quicker than before...

Scraping silicone off the glass is so much fun!:nilly:

Not so much fun as a career move... good thing your single jobbed now :D

lol...

talking with my girlfriend we think it might be "safer" and a better idea to just go with a block tank and just scrap this thing altogether...

I'd probably go with the dimensions 10'x5'x5'

Make 4 plywoods, no wait make 2 double sided.. No wait again, make one & send me 2 panels...

Seriously, I would do a double sided, splitting a couple rooms. I have just the spot.

& you're right. it its tempered, its plenty strong enough & can not be cut

So I was thinking about possibly making a temporary tank for my monsters.

I have two smaller pcs of glass that I have sitting around and i was trying to think of how i could put them to use.

What problems, if any, do you see with setting up a tank this way.
