Wow, that sounds amazing! The next time you make it could you measure what you're putting into it, even if in "ish" amounts?
I bet this would be good maybe to get fire eels on prepared food too.
I keep track of the amounts from recipe to recipe so it's already at hand. My rubber bottomed ice cube tray holds approx. 1 1/4 cups of finished food, so proportions are geared accordingly.
1/2cup chopped fish fillet
1/4 cup blood worm (decreases over time once fish are eating well)
12 ground Massivore
20 ground NLS Thera A
1/4 cup cool water
1 package Knox unflavored gelatin powder
1/4 cup hot water
Into the fridge to set, then pop out into a sandwich bag to store in fridge or freezer.
I like being able to tinker with their food. Great to add medicine, pellets, different proteins, vitamins, high carotene foods to color up, spiralina for the plecos etc etc. My TT refuses pellets, but likes the soft sponginess of this food, so she's getting some of the goodness of pellets if she realizes it or not!
I still plan to feed a variety of foods, just found this was helpful especially for hard to feed spiny eels.
One downside compared to pellets only is the nutrient density is lowered due to the water content of the gel.
