Maybe the missing finlets are normal at this size and will grow later
It would be a big coincidence that 3 out of 3 have the same deformation...

So, did Murphy ever grow any more finlets on his/her back? My two are up to about 4" and it seems that they just have the same 4 finlets in the middle of the back that hey had before.

Murphy didn't grow any finlets either.
I don't think that the missing finlets will grow ...
