Are those little guys H. Carpinte? That would be my guess but I'm not too familiar with them. Does someone know for sure?

that's what I'd say they are :grinyes:

Hey Fry I'll try to get those pics on here. I'ts gonna be a pain cause the one with the lighter eyes stays hidden most of the time, and they are tiney. I'll get it though!

I'd suggest that you buy it from a reputable breeder if you care about what you are getting. There's a good chance that you are going to get a cyano or even hybrids, etc from a lfs, especially chain stores. Ken Davis ("fishfarm") had a batch a little while ago but I'm not sure if he has any left.

An old pic of a juvie Escondido I got from Ken:

Looks exactly like the 4 I have growing out right now. that I got from Ken. One of them, a female, is growing like a danged weed and is approaching 3.5" very quickly. I got them maybe a 4-6 weeks ago. They are doing real well so far and I've established the 2 biggest ones are both females. I think one of the two smaller ones is male but waiting to see him get a bit bigger and confirm there is no black in the dorsal.

I'm getting a new dslr by the end of this week or beginning of next, depending on UPS, so soon as I get the chance I'll show what mine look like as well, though theya re very much similar to the pic in the quote above.

so the only difference between the carp. and the cyno. are just colors?
