texas or jaguar...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Rallys man I have the two juv Jags and they both have red eyes, according to my book they will have red eyes untill they begin to mature. I will point out the eye color does change with the mood of the fish, ie aggressive or passive behavior. I feel my eyes turn red depending on my mood too! LOL

Thanks for the info:) I just never noticed it like I do on Trimacs and FHs. Now that I look through some pix I see what you're talking about. Perdy cool stuff:thumbsup:

You must be thinking of something else...jags dont have red eyes. they honestly dont have as much color as a texas and usually are thicker beefier fish.

are you thinking flowerhorn or trimac by chance?

I agree, any mature jag that I have seen gets quite thick.
That said, in the right tank the Jag is a phenomenal choice.

My jag had red eyes when she was younger.

a jag and a texan in a 75 gallon? mmmmmmm not sure if that would work out mate!!

agreed...the jag will fairly quickly outgrow the texas and decide it wants the whole tank for itself and then dispose of the jag. I wouldn't mix jag with other big cichlids in anything smaller than a 180 but that's just me. :)

Flowerhorn! Or if you want a jackdempsey you can have mine for your bluegill. I don't like my dempsey though so I wouldn't want you to have it and hate it too.
