^^The above post is what I am talking about. With certain diseases, fish do die within a few days, not at the fault of the customer.

I really wouldn't order if you were looking for a few types of fish, only buy in bulk.

Anyone that has been in our place knows you can eat off our tanks & and we do not use central filter systems. I do not know what it is in his tanks, either drug sedated or what?
For the LFS it is getting harder daily to get quality fish as it is for some of you & we do not get a guarantee, so when a store gives a guarantee & something happens then the store most likely will lose money.

... being from ohio they are a pain in the ass to deal with, because they wont sell to you unless you are nowhere near one of their LFS, or if you spend a boatload of money they may look the other way.
i guess he is trying to protect the LFS near me that "orders from them". but apparently the LFS doesnt care too much about TFD, because i have been asking them about p.bass for 2-3 months, and they keep telling me they cant get them. TFD has had them on the list for at least that long????
so i figured i would bypass the LFS, i found 3-5 people interested, rounded up about $500 worth of stock (plus whatever i would have added to the list once i got to look everything over in person), then called to see if i could drive 3 hours each way to pick the fish up. once i spoke to them he was very rude, and unfriendly on the phone and basically told me to get lost, and that he was too busy for my money

i am good friends with the manager at another local LFS who does not do business with them, and i was telling him about TFD's stock, and how great it was. i was trying to get him to get his company to see if they could order from TFD. after the phone conversation though, i called the manager and told him not to worry about it, i would rather they find someone else selling those fish

he has pretty good stock, and pretty good prices, but i will not deal with them ever again in the future
anyone who considers dealing with them over the internete should call and talk to them in person, and if you want your money going to someone like that, then so be it.

Like you I also had a handful of people and around $500-$600 worth of stock we were planning on driving 2-3 hours to get. However upon calling and speaking to Joe he was rather harsh on the phone. All I can say is you get what you pay for and with his rather low prices, you seemingly also get low quality fish, and exceptionally low customer service. As previously mentioned in someone elses response if the LFS would start selling different stuff I wouldn't care paying a few more dollars. But it gets really old going to the LFS and seeing the same beat up stock they have every time.

I have only ordered one time from TFD around a month or so ago. Joe was super on the phone and got shipping door to door as I could not pickup at the airport. My order arived on time and all fish were alive. Only one fish in the order did not look healthy and died within a couple of days. I have only lost three other fish 2 Dat's & 1 Nile Tilapia which was my fault. They got chewed up by one of their tankmates.

My order was
Electric Blue Ahli (4) - All are still heathy and happy. Excellent color. Eat well.
Compressicep (2) - Both are still heathy and happy. Absolute hogs!
Venustus (2) - Both are still heathy and happy, and eating well.
Demasoni (4) - All are still heathy and happy. Excellent color. (less then 2" though)
Tropheops (4) - This was the fish that one arived not looking good and died. The other three atr healthy. One of the three has fantastic color. The other two notso.
Nile Tilapia - (4) 3 health and happy and eating very well.
Para Polleni Tilapia (2) - F'ing as beautiful as I have ever seen. WOW! Both kicking.
Albino Senegal Bichirs - (6) All but one are healthy and eating well. One has a major red mark from my EBJD swallowing its head before spitting it out. He is healing nicely.
Ornate Bichirs (2) - Beautiful and agressive eaters.
Palmas Bichir (1) - Heathy and eating well. A lazy lunk though.
Delhezi Bichirs (3) - Heathy and happy and eating well. These fish are being sold as Ornates at one of the largest fish stores in MD. House of Tropicals.
Endlicheri Bichir - (1) Very fat. Good eater and very active fish.
Ctenolucius Hujeta (1) - Uber aggressive little fellow. Incredible eater.
Marble Line Gars (3) - All eating live roseys like they are going extinct!
Orange Line Halfbeaks (2) - Impressive little fish. Excellent colors. Flexible eaters!
Male Flagfish Killies (3) - Colorful and healthy. Large (3"). Healthy and eating well. They have seemingly bonded well with my three 4" female flags!
Borneo Tiger Dats (6) - All arived healthy. I lost one the second and one the third day in the tank. Tails were missing on "dead" dats. I rehomed the 3 true gars and the rocket "gar" and have had no further problems.

I am pleased with my order and will definatly like to continue to do business with Joe and TFD.

I have only one major "issue" with the entire TFD experience. I am a solitary private collector and not a LFS etc... As another poster stated the minnimum order of $200 is not like a drop in a bucket. I would do orders alot more frequently if it were lowered to say $50 - $70!
