I just got an order from TFD yesterday. Karen was very proffessional with taking my order. I ordered 6 Frontosa, 4 Transcriptus Julidichromis, 4 T-bar Cichlids, 6 Veija Synsipillum and some hard supplies. Got the shipment in via airport delievery. One frontosa was dead and they were about 1 inch oppose to the described 1.5 inches. That being said, the other fish were up to standards. I have a small fish business and my wholesaler has been selling fish smaller and smaller lately so I won't hold it against TFD for the Fronts. The julies were very nice and everything else was pretty much what I expected. The frontosas tho small, did have nice color on them. Also i told Karen what happened and she returned the money to my account with no hassel. I was a little dissappointed in the size but I won't hold it against them and would probably order from them again.

I personally have had a bad experience with TFD I purchased some rays of of joe and spoke with him personally and seemed to be an ok guy at first,but once I received my shipment it turned into a different story I ordered 2 retic's off of him and was gaurented that my rays would be live on arrival not true 1 dead 1 alive with deathcurl I called them right away and found out I could get 2 more but would have to pay another shipping fee.So I did just that because I know that u take a chance when u buy rays but when I received my next shipment 1 arrived with death curl and the secomd arrived covered in fish lice,now mind u I understand that fish can die when being shipped but when u recieve rays that are covered in fish lice that tells me something's wrong.I was really upset and thought to my self that if this had been someone that is not very experienced in rays that they would have put these rays in there tank thinking all is great just to turn around and kill all ther livestock.Now when I spoke with joe I got the impression from him that all I was doing was complainig because he stated to me that I was the only 1 calling back with problems.As far as I am concerned 36 years in bussness or not u dont ship out fish covered in fish lice.I feel that he may have good prices but poor quality of fish.I will NOT buy from him again.He may try to work something out with u but it really dosent matter if he continueusly sends u bad fish.

I bought Frontosa’s, Veija Synsipilum, Julidichromis Transcriptus, and T-Bar Sajica. The fronts were smaller than expected and most died. No big deal, that happens. The julies and Viejas were nice and healthy and I plan on breeding them once they grow to adults. The T-bar I had been looking to find for years but had never seen them in person. When I got them they were less than 1 inch and looked just like convicts. I figured they need to grow some and maybe they’ll get their supposed featured look. Well the more they ate, the more they grew, the more colorful they got the more they looked like convicts. So I go to my buddies pet store yesterday and he has some blue eye sajicas in. Same size as my fish except they looked like T-Bars are suppose to look. I called TFD and they were nice about it and offered a refund but I have to send the fish back. Never sent fish by mail before so hopefully its under the $25 I paid for fish not including original shipping. I don’t really blame TFD because it’s a fish that not many people know about and maybe they bought it unsuspectingly like me. It just sucks cus in the end I end up paying a lot more had I of just waited to personally pick some out.
If you are reading this message don’t take it as a deterrent from you not buying from these guys, just make sure you and who ever you buy from know what it is you are getting and how things will be resolved if there is a problem. Since I sell fish I may just try to sell the fish as Convicts for what I paid instead of losing out on money sending them back. Oh well, ish happens.

Had a second order with Joe, just like the 1st. No issues, all the fish were alive and healthy. Order was 100% correct.

Def wouldn't buy from these people unless you are ready to take a huge loss, or if you are just looking to order a **** ton of stuff for you LFS.
I got my Medusa Plec from him today and am super pleased. Healthy fish with a nice round stomach and packaged extremely well. I'm sorry a couple of you have had bad experiences but I'm very happy. Medusas aren't the most common plecs and to get such a healthy one is an extra added plus.
I have never ordered from tfd but I can tell you this the selection I have seen as I have looked at what they offer does impress me for sure and when I get popping with my fish company up here in saskatchewan, I will be getting fish from them.
I have to say that if fish die 5 days later it was most probably in the fault of the person who kept them for their last five days of life not the supplier.

Well I will give my 2 cents, being a lfs. I have delt with tfs longer then many & was going there back in the haydays 24 years ago when I worked for a store.
I have taken a lot of losses of all kinds of fish the last couple years.
One order last year was $900 in plecos & lost most with ick on steriods within a week! I was told to come back & buy more! So did not go back for awhile. Would get basic feeders here and there & once in awhile get something needed for the store. A month ago bought some dats I pay what you are paying then selliing them to make profit & pay tons of bills. Well ick whiped them out. Oh the sajicas are convicts because I got some & now going to take back because $5ea I paid. I usually pick & catch my own but I still lose more then half after treating them! Fish are move in & out asap & thats it.
Its a gamble & you may win & you may not. good luck
