Damn bro how big is the tank? If you have that many jd's in ur tank chances are the male EBJD's are going to choose a female jack instead of the female flowerhorn. Also I really don't think that it'll be happening if ur EBJD's are the same size or smaller than the FH female. The FH will go on beast mode in a couple of weeks and the EBJD's are known to get picked on. Remember that gold dempseys are as strong as regulars and ur EBJD's are at a disadvantage in your tank and that regular jack is a male so WATCH OUT!
Also whenever they're old enough to breed u'll need to raise the temperature a few degrees to around 82 to 84 degrees and that usually makes all fish more aggressive. I'd get a school of Giant Danios if I were you. "Just a suggestion."
But dude, regardless of everything if you can make it happen it'd be an awesome looking fry so don't let me stop u from trying... I'll buy some of the fry for sure if u wanna sell it later. Keep me posted. =]
I'm trying to breed my blue jack with a Green Texas right now. My intention is to cross their fry with another EBJD to create a stronger "Blue fish" since Texans are extremely hardy...my EBJD is 6 inches and she is 4 inches, hopefully they'll wanna boink soon. Wish me luck =]
