Thai Silk Juvenile - grading request

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The hybrid was created to have significant hump size as Chinese believed that it brings good luck. I don't know why it became the most desired trait somehow, are we just following a trend/craze? I think a decent size is better than enormous one. Color, pearls, fins, body shape, aggressiveness are equally if not more important.

Decent is subjective, and I mean this size when I say decent (higher end though)

Yeah honestly some koks get to be way too big. Big enough to the point it starts causing health issues and swimming problems in some. My FH Jr. was even pushing the limits when his kok got to the size of a baseball while only being 10 inches long. He had problems when it can to swimming and eating, he had a hard time coming up to the top of the tank to eat his floating pellets because he kok always pushed them away. A big kok is alright but I definitely agree that it should be more about color, pearling, and personality then anything else.

That is a very nice looking Midas tho. He has a monster kok. But I mainly like how he's almost all one singular color rather then looking like an orange dairy cow lol

That's the picture came up on google result. I was looking at DIY king's video on youtube where he went to public aquarium, I saw a midas there which to me looked pretty balanced and felt like sweet spot.

That gar looked like something from a scifi movie.

If I move to India, I would definitely build a fish room like his. I have moved more than 10 times in last 6 years in US.

Any idea what kind of gar it is? Never seen one with that kind of color before. Lol I'd like to move to Florida but it'll be quite awhile before I can afford that.

Someone's joke? I don't get what the problem is, nothing wrong with making a joke here and there.
Its stupid and verrrry off-putting to people who speak the english language.
Its a nuchal hump or head. It was that before it was ever a "kok". Take your kok talk to Thailand where it isnt lost in translation and appearing as a homosex invitation.

Its strange to me the same people who adopt this terminology from Asia dont understand the aesthetics that made these fish popular there at one time.
