It's a great idea! My solution would be to simply use a small container to take tank water and gently dump it into the smaller containers a few times a day. :) That way, there would have to be some water turnover. I might also drill holes into the bottoms and use sandpaper to remove any sharp edges.

how about having a pump directed at the holes?

im glad my ideas are getting put into use. it works great to a certain extent. until u gohta find yourself a bigger container. i added a airstone to my containers because i was worried about the lack of air.
