Here's an example of the code that will be uploaded to the Arduino controller. You have a lot of flexiblity with the lighting when you go with a microcontroller!

Getting too deep for me. I'm just glad I love my $110 investment!:grinno:

me too
Here's my 125 with three 10w's. The sand is over exposed but the rest is pretty close to actual illumination. There is a 2" divder in the middle that the light is straddling about 2" above the water line.

You think I could get away with two 10w in a 125 if I'm going for the dark edges look?

Absolutely. Buy a 4 pack anyway...you'll find a place for them on another tank!

Just gave my glass tops the white vinegar razor blade cleaning.

Makes all the difference doesn't it? I hadn't cleaned mine in years! :headbang2

I had to. I took them off and watched the tank for a while. wish i could leave it topless.

I might go buy 6 or 8 of these for the 220g (72x30x24) that I'm setting up soon... They look really nice.

I used two of the yellowish ones in my driveway. I'm going to use the last yellowish one in my shed when I run electric to it. I took a 30w outside and it lights up my entire backyard. I want to get another one for that.

Six on a 24" 180 is good but on a 30" deep it doesn't cut it IMO.

Before I bought the three 30w's I put several 10w's over the tank; two in each 2' section just wasn't enough light; three in each section looked good but just a hair too dim. I also tried four in each section and liked it better but went with the 30w's since they seemed to put out more light then the combined 10w's. I think the stronger lights reach the bottom better.

However you chop it up these are the wattage's and depths that worked for me (for a low light/natural lighting effect)(tank width will also play a factor):
30w's on every 2' section of a 30" deep tank, 24" wide.
20w's on every 2' section of a 24" deep tank, 24" wide.
10w's on every 2' section of a < 21" deep tank, <18" wide.
