I'm looking for suitable plants as a means of additional filtration. It would be placed in the sump. The depth of the sump compartment is 6.5" and the lighting would be a 8W Cool Daylight [just an ordinary light from hardware store]

1. The plants must be great at nitrate absorbing
2. Able to flourish under the lighting
3. Commonly found
4. Don't need a substrate (can be potted or free hanging)
5. Floating plants prefered.

Can any of you suggust plants which fits most of the criteria?
