Nothing much, except a few minor modifications. The overflow was still loud due to water tricking about 5.5" down the first overflow into the durso.
So I decided to cut out and wedge a piece of filter pad to allow water to cascede down gently. It also serves as a great pre-filter, look at all the gunk it has trapped!
Another thing I changed was the filter socks. Initially I tied some ropes and use clips to hold it in place. Problem was, I have to cut those ropes when putting the socks in the washing machine or it would get entangled. So I switch to hooks. Just remove them, wash, hook them back up.
Also I switched the pump to AquaZonic E-08. A very strong pump at 6000L/h.
Its also very quiet too. Can barely hear a noise when I'm sleeping next to it.
Excuse the dog.... Hehe!

Recently started to try Waterlife's product. Love the Sterazin so much that I decide to try their Vitazin. Soak FD krill and pellets in it for about 2 mins before feeding to the bichirs. All I can say is that they look much more healthy and colourful than before.

My loves these guys....I just wish I could put something else with them. Her sengals ate everyone I would combined them with. they even came out of the water and caught tree frogs I put in as a mixed land and water tank. Just wish they grew better. All fish we had at our apartment stayed dwarfed. Made a unique nano tank stock.
I use clorox, the unscented one, quite cheap only $2.99.
Run 3 rinse, first is just to rinse the washing machine for any residue detergent from last wash, then i wash with clorox (1 part to 10), and finally a normal rinse with just water.
Gonna do it in the morning after my parents head out.

LOL, so if you suddenly stop posting on here we know what happened. Your mom found out and killed you.
The best way to quieten down your overflow splashing sound is to raise your durso up further, yours is much too short IMO. You want to minimize the distance that the water falls when it comes through the teeth of your overflow and into the box. The top cap should be about even or slightly higher than the trim of your tank. Cut a taller vertical standpipe and replace the one you have.
