Bigger version of the 2260, I think its about 250gph more than a 2260. Down side is ive read its a but louder than the 2260.

Ahhh, seems the only difference is that you get a more powerfull hobby pump, ( the Powered by new high output 1262 pump ) and you also get the double tap connectors. Otherwise it is identical.

I wounder if the pumps foot print is the same as the one with the 2260? I would love to double my flow!

2262? no such thing here in Australia, i cant find it anywhere.I think we have been ripped off:cry:

Anybody ship to Australia?:help2:

You can get a 2262 in Australia by making up your own. Just with buying a 2260 and a 1262 pump and selling the 1260 pump.

Ok thanks Taksan.

so bucket size is the same as 2260? at least they fit the double tap connectors. it was a PITA to get hold of a set of the 25-34 type for my 2260

McDonalds use to get thier pickles in a green 5 USG bucket.....that 2260/2262 looks exactly like those buckets!!! Makes me want to build my own. I dont have anything nearly large enough for one though...

Hey, WyldFya I just set up my beast today. I picked up a Eheim 2262 for my 125. It already had 2 Eheim 2229 wetdry canisters on it. It has got FLOW now, the beast is awesome. I've been following your thread and your praise inspired me to finally get one. It is a great filter and I'm glad to be part of the 2262 club.

Seems to me that increasing the flow through the same amount of media would actually DEcrease the bio due to less dwell time.
Mech. could be better (as well as most cans.), but I really don't see the justification. Unless you specifcally want/need more current, in which case, a couple cheap pwerheads would do as well, and be movable to boot.

The 2262 is great at mech, but not as effective at bio as the 2260. However, as an all around use, it can handle longer intervals between cleaning without the use of backup filters compared to the 2260.
