So no one wil have to surrender or destroy existing Snakes?

For now. It's still going to be illegal to transport them across state lines in two months when the law goes into effect, though; that's really going to hurt some of the breeders that specialize in Burmese pythons.

Yeah - those filthy rich animal rights groups

Those pieces of crap have way more money than USARK and other groups.

Where do you think all the money from their sad commercials with hurt puppies and kittens goes? They spend way more on advertising and lobbying than they do on the animals themselves. I can honestly say that they are one of the groups that I hate the most.

don't be fooled, HSUS is the greatest enemy to anyone who has any sort of pet. PETA is largely regarded as a joke by most people these days, but the HSUS has taken over their agenda and can get away with it by lying to the public and claiming to be a helpful group that supports cats and dogs and whales and whatever else. But HSUS gives the smallest imaginable fraction of their budget to shelters, they don't actually own or operate a single one, and they ARE fighting for a world that is free of animals in any aspect of life... this means no pets, no meat, no medicines, nothing.

Exactly. The miniscule amount of good that they do is just a facade for their more sinister operations.

The most painful part about this mess other than the ban itself is the pseudo-scientific bull**** that is backing it up. It reminds me of the crap the Japanese uses to try to justify whaling. I wonder what would happen if just once a wildlife law was put into play based on fact rather than money and fear.
