He looks good! Definitely stick to crunchy foods as much as possible, but if necessary, spirulina brine shrimp are a better choice than regular brine shrimp. Puffers get very little veggie matter in their diets. When he moves to a bigger tank, use the current tank to breed snails for him. My wife's GSPs have Molly tankmates, so I also drop in a dozen ghost shrimp each month to satisfy their hunting desires & keep them from eating any fish fins. I also remove molly fry ASAP & feed them to my loaches at work. Fish is not good for the puffs...

Hes looking pretty good (from what i can tell)... colors seems to be quite bright on him as well...

I have a 1/2 dozen ghost shrimp in there with him but I haven't seen him go for them yet.

about two weeks ago I put two small guppies in with him just to see what he would do. He eat one in one quick bite. The other one is now his tank mate.

He loves night crawlers cut in small pieces, yum!

He had his first market shrimp last night but did not eat much of it. Next time I will cut a small piece off for him.

Bump

when i had mine i fed him, clams, ghost shrimp, blood worms, baby snails or small crabs from the lfs.

He'll go for the ghost shrimp when he feels frisky. You may only notice a few less shrimp every morning & never see him hunting.

That guppy is living on borrowed time...

Yup, night crawlers are always a hit.

Make sure & keep the shell on the shrimp. Its good for his beak/teeth & keeps him interested if he has to work for it. Snails & mussels can just be hit with a spoon to crack the shell. He'll take it from there.

Thanks, I will have to give it a try.
