The Best GSP Diet?

I definitely recommend breeding rams horn snails. They are easy to breed and breed in large numbers and grow fast. It would be very easy to have enough snails for him to eat a couple each feeding with a well established snail tank. I have a 30 gallon snail tank and they reproduce like mad. There is plenty to go around for my 2 GSP's. You can often get rams horn snails for free at the local pet store out of the plant tanks. Just get as many as you can and put them in a tank (about 15g or larger with good filtration) and in a couple months you will have more than you know what to do with.
If your pet store does not have rams horn snails than you can order some off the net. I actually got a couple dozed off ebay once and they did great.

Would they do well in a community tank of 29 gal. with tetra and the like?

^ This is just an educated guess since i breed my ramshorn's alone... but i would imagine there is a slight chance that your fish may pick some of the really young ones off, but if you have enough of them in there, they should breed faster than your fish can take them out...

I have pond snails breeding in my discus tank. I didn't put them there but my puffers don't mind. ;)

Does one color of ram horn do better than others? I looked on eBay and seen red, blue, bronze, brown - you name it.:nilly:
