So with all of that taken care of I still had the challenge of getting all my super rare, fancy silver dollars that I don’t know if I will ever see them again on the market.

so I got my father in law to rig up his inverter in the back of my truck by running wires from my battery of my truck to the back of the truck with a big tractor battery to power it while my truck wasn’t running.

my plan was to run my fx6 in the tote so I could preserve some of my currently seasoned media. For whatever reason the fx6 would not run on the inverter. So I had been preparing for a time such as this, with a sponge filter that I had been running for a long time in Case of emergency’s. Well shoot the water wasn’t deep enough in the tote for it to function properly. So another last minute detail I sent a friend out to grab some air stones and a splitter (that I already had but were packed about an hour or two prior and couldn’t find). Then I hooked up my heater via inkbird controller- (thank you Nilsafeller Nilsafeller 😘)

So the first night I found out that the battery didn’t have enough juice to run all night. So my temp dropped about 7 degrees :WHOA::OMG: So the next night of travel I luckily had a power pack that had a 100’ cord attached.

I thought I was so brilliant because I managed to sell all of my tanks super last minute with almost no advertisements.

so my wife says to me, “uh, what are you going to put your fish in when you get here?”

(scratches head) um I guess I will will buy a new one once I get there lol.

so once again another friend comes through for me on this side of the country and finds me a small tank to get started.

I just got this set up about 2 hrs ago

so this photo was taken on October.5 about 20 mins before I left my old place in Calgary ab- this means my silver dollars were in the bin for 12 days because I developed a cough and had to be in quarantine until I had a negative test result before travelling which created tension amongst my family on the other side so I had to sit for a week before arriving at final destination.

The best part about all of this was that I had to deliver a ray pup to Regina which is roughly 8 hrs away from my place. It took a really long time to get everything done on the last day so we left super late, which meant I had to arrive to drop off the ray at 2:30 am in Regina before I could stop for the night.

because of the ray pup delivery, I had to leave my tank set up until the last minute. I also had to finish painting the room after the tank was torn down. So I had to tear down my 120 and sump, set up the travel tote, paint the room, finish clean up the house so it could be ready to take photos to list the house, and finish the last of the loading of the trailer before I drive 9 hrs. That was one of the most stressful days of my life I’m sure.

So today has been a hard day mentally for sure. After all the hard work and effort I put in to get these silver dollars across the country (with all my sump media). I may lose them all anyway 😭😢

they had the beginnings of ich before I left. So I bumped up their temp and added salt. In the busyness of everything, I didn’t think too much about it. Just carried on my day. Silver dollars are bomb proof anyway right? Well not indestructible I guess. After being in transport for roughly 2 weeks and eating very minimal food and a few temp fluctuations, they are over taken with ich. Worst case I have seen to date.

I don’t typically like to use meds or chemicals, but I am at the end of my rope and this is last resort. So I dosed with malachite green today in hopes of reviving even 1-2 if possible. I started the trip with 14,I am down to 10 and 3 could be gone by morning the way they are acting currently.

Another issue that I have been beating myself up about was during some unpacking the other day, I pulled a mattress out of my truck, and the lid for one of my tanks came with it and smashed on the top of my foot (just above the steel toe :duh:).

luckily only 1 piece of glass will need to be replaced. Also thankful that it was one of the smallest pieces, so hopefully will be easy to replace locally.

What a crazy story. This hobby is filled with ups and downs. Sorry to hear about the ich that’s a tough thing to deal with on top of everything else. The view looks amazing up there, best of luck with everything going forward.
