The big move

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So after hearing this is colmnaris I looked it up and came across this.

There is a cattle type store in town so tomorrow I will see if I can get my hands on someoxytetracycline. If not I think I will euthanize the rest of the fish andbleach the entire system to start over.

I wouldn’t take my word. Hopefully RD. RD. is around. My freshwater disease knowledge is low.

So a quick update- the silver dollars stopped dying (so far) and are starting to eat again. There are 6 left and 1 sae. 2 are still rugged looking, but 4 and the sae seem to be doing ok.

will wait and see if they will get reinfected/ succumb to the current infections or make a full recovery. Sounds like I am not out of the water yet, but I am seeing more hope than the other day.

I have exhausted the last of my left over meds from before the ban, also bought all available in my new city. I am working out of town this next week, hopefully I can find some kicking around at lfs in other city’s on my journey.

Matteus Matteus I know how frustrating it is to lose a fish you value greatly and aren't sure if you’ll ever see again, I lost my first Wallace’s shoehead catfish about two years ago and I honestly never thought I’d see another one for sale. It took two years but through repeated scourings of lists and constantly emailing people I found someone who can and did bring them in. The person who brought them in for me was a rather large site, not one you would think of as being so willing to look for a fish for a single customer but they did, if you can talk to fugupuff then I’d say that’s your beat chance at replacing all of the ones you’ve lost. Now that man can bring in anything I say. It will be expensive to have them shipped to canada, I believe you are there, however I’d say he’s your beat chance depending on what species you lost.

Here’s what I have on the one list:
metynnis hysauchen (spotted silver dollar/silver dollar)
Myleus schomburgkii (wide bar)
Metynnis maculatus

Anything not on my list I’m told to ask.
