The biggest Arowana that you saw in tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
no pics, sorry. at the time i didn't even know what an arowana was, and thought that was normal size. the fact that the only things smaller than it were the peacock bass probably helped with that, he had 'pimas, piraibas, and a 7 foot paroon shark, so it didn't stick out. it was ugly, so i didn't see the point of taking a pic. it was just hanging out in a corner most of the time.

i think johnptc has a big aro in his tank or maybe no, bdericks silvers and blacks are pretty big, half fish half amazing use to have BIG silvers in his standard 125

your talking about my 30" pima in with my 2 24" silver aro in the 125.

i dont have the Pima no more i but i still have the 2 24" silver aro

If someone had a 30,000g tank and a 5' silver arowana I'm pretty sure MFK would know about it..

I don't have any pics and didn't see any online, but the shedd aquarium in chicago has a silver aro that is every bit of 4 feet and about as thick as a football. If you are every in chicago you should check it out. After seeing this beautiful fish I vowed to never privately own one again, unless I can provide at least a 1,000 gallon aquarium. The true potential of these fish is mind boggling when you see it in person.

You are right Del....They can reach upto 5' in length! The zoo here has 4 that are around that length...Very big, very nice! But in the home aquarium, they can be tank busters at around 3-4'.....If you had a big enough tank though, you could probably grow it out to that 5' mark!

Jen ;)
people have definitely heard of silvers this size, i'm not the only one.
