I'm not sure if you can keep them. Just consider them a huge species of hermit crab that can tear your face off.

That things probably capable of taking a finger not-so-clean off lol. 'Course I've heard that they're slower than molasses.
 
Keep it in your yard with a sign on the gate saying, "Beware of Crab"
 
IF you can find a breeder (like at a university lab or hobbyist) you might be able to get one. These crabs were red listed a few years back and are illegal to harass or capture in the wild.

Lol, eat with caution! Some people get sick from eating the flesh. In some areas where this species lives, it eats toxic plants which make the crabs poisonous to eat.
