The Fish Whisperer

I have ghost shrimp that come to the surface if I touch it because they think "food".

I know cichlids are smart though. My daughter and my female Texas ("Pigger") have a special bond. Pigger will swim to her when she plays her karaoke game and she will go to the glass and sing to the fish and the fish responds... with NO food.

Obviously Pigger responds to me because I am the only one who feeds the tank - she even lets me "pet" her when I have my hand in the tank for maintenance, etc. But she doesn't pay attention to my wife, son or anyone else for that matter. I have no reasonable explanation why my girls get along so well other than - they both love music???

I've only had Pigger for two years, so I gotta believe there's much we don't understand about these fish. Hell, I had a parakeet for 9 years before it said it's first word!!!

After seeing the Russian dude that trains cats to do tricks, I gotta think just about anything is possible...

one of the very first red devils i had was mean as could be so he would go after fish and make me mad so i woukl take him out and lay him on a wet towel for about 5 mins and put him back in tank. i did this about 7 times total and eventually he did not bother any of his tankmates. i know it worked. fish are alot smarter then given credit for.

:ROFL:I used to chased my red devil with a net even hold him in it for a few minutes. It got to the point when I opened the lid he would hide in the back. In the end he won and went for a trip to the LFS. I'm not raising those again unless I can provide them their own tank.
