The fish you never wanted

OK is there a fish that you swore you would never own but ended up owning and its now one of your favorite fish?

For whatever reason I never liked clown loaches. Not sure why I just did and anytime someone would say "Dude. You should get some loaches." I would resist and would say something stupid like "Naaa. I don't think they have good personalities." Anyway I ended up getting 2. I feel in love with them and have added 3 more to get my total up to 5. I can't get enough of them

Any of you have a similar experience??

Yes, I heard so many bad things about oscars before I expanded my collection beyond platy's. I was warned left and right, so I decided to never own one. But then, one day I just decided to get an oscar. And now I love him. He is great. I felt very misinformed about oscars. Maybe those ppl just had bad experiences. I think oscars are great with tons of personality!

I also have 10 clown loaches which i didnt particularly like, but while i was at school one day my mum bought 3 and i built up the amount.

I could not agree more!! I think some people when they of big fish they think that they are boring but for me its the total opposite. I mean how many fishes do you know of will give you a bath just for feeding them?? I have to be careful when I feed my oscars or they will splash water all over me.

I ended up with a dirty great big goldfish in my tank after he got passed around all my mates tanks.
Funnily enough, he became one of my favourites as he was always active and I preferred the colour to many of my trops on the same tank!

I will NEVER underrate standard goldfish ever again!

I thought so too mainly about poly's though. I took the plunge the other day and came home with two sens. Really digging them. At my local store they had 3 endli's and I really didn't like the coloration/blotches/spots of black, and just thought they looked like water snakes. But I really like the sens now.

nothing really. I'm currently caring for 2 gouramis, but I hate them, so that doesn't count
